Green Essence Foundation, an agro start - up, registered under section 8 of companies act , has  actively started to promote the plantation of aromatic crops by motivating and addressing various farmers groups of different geographical locations. The company has developed farmers network who can take up aromatic plantation in their fields and grow these crops on a commercial scale.

In the current location of Banasingi village of Dhenkanal district, the entire agrarian land was kept unutilized because of the elephant menace. Even though, the village is at a strategic position from an agricultural point of view, in terms of irrigation and soil quality, yet farmers started to lose interest in agriculture because the elephants would destroy all the crops. But after the introduction of aromatic crops, which are a natural repellent of animals, the farmers have now started to look at agriculture in a very positive manner and have started to take up these crops in phased manner. 

The company has also spearheaded aromatic plantation campaign in other districts of Odisha,particularly in Mayurbhanj and Angul, and have mobilized farmers to take up aromatic plantation. They have grown and supplied the products to the company.

The company is dedicated to transforming the lives of the poor farmers of the villagers across Odisha, through participatory Aromatic Plantation Program, ecosystem restoration, and climate-resilient, sustainable agriculture.
